Developer Telltale Games has laid off some of its staff.
That's according to cinematic artist Jonah Huang who took to Twitter – as spotted by VentureBeat – to say that the company had made "most of" its staff redundant. This reportedly took place in early September, with Huang adding that this was shortly after Telltale acquired Flavourworks in August.
In a statement, Telltale has confirmed that it had made some staff redundant though did not say how many employees had been laid off.
“Due to current market conditions, we regrettably had to let some of our Telltale team go recently," the company wrote.
"We did not take this action lightly, and our commitment to storytelling and finding new ways to do so remains the same. We are grateful to everyone for their dedication along this journey, and we are working to support everyone impacted. All projects currently in development are still in production, and we have no further updates at this time.”
This comes five years after Telltale – in its original form – closed down, laying off all staff in the process.
