Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore delivers the Albus Dumbledore that Harry Potter never could through showcasing him dueling Grindlewald. The second trailer for Fantastic Beasts 3 shows a Dumbledore at the height of his magical power and facing off against Gellert Grindelwald in a long-awaited duel. It's a side of the Hogwarts professor — and, eventually, headmaster — that the original series could never properly explore.
By the time Harry Potter first entered Hogwarts, Dumbledore was well over 100-years-old and long past his prime. Yet, his many accomplishments still awarded him a fair amount of fear and respect from everyone he met, most notably from defeating Grindelwald when the Dark Wizard was at his strongest. Sadly, despite how often wizards whispered about his famous exploits, the Harry Potter movies could never really show any of these feats, and Dumbledore rarely performed much impressive magic at all.

Fantastic Beasts 3 promises to finally grant viewers a proper look at how truly powerful Dumbledore is. The trailer shows snippets of a duel between him and Grindelwald, for which they both use a lot of advanced magic throughout. Since two more Fantastic Beasts movie are planned after this one, the duel is likely not the infamous one that cemented Dumbledore's fame in the wizarding world, but it is the first proper reveal of Dumbledore's power.
