Naughty Dog has revealed The Last of Us Part 1's accessibility features, and they're being praised as one of the best parts of the game.
One of the most praised elements of The Last of Us Part 2 was its wide suite of accessibility features, including options for hearing, vision, motor functions, input remapping, motion sickness, and more. It was widely regarded as the best suite of accessibility options in gaming up to that point, and Naughty Dog looks to be making it the norm moving forward as it's included all of them and more in The Last of Us Part 1.

Following several gameplay leaks over the past week, Naughty Dog released a 10-minute video detailing all of the changes coming to The Last of Us Part 1. Although it's caused some controversy for not having gameplay features from The Last of Us Part 2 like many fans hoped, one section of the video showcased some of the accessibility options coming to the game, including the first instance of built-in audio description in a PlayStation game.
The range of accessibility options has been received incredibly positively from fans of The Last of Us, with some even saying that it justifies the price tag, especially for disabled gamers who weren't able to play the original game due to a lack of options. Accessibility advocate Steve Saylor said, "I don’t care what you think. To me if The Last Of Us Remake makes a barely playable game for disabled players to an almost fully accessible game for disabled players, that is 100% worth $70. Period".
