The 'Trusted Contacts' function has been one of the social media platform's solutions to ensuring its users never lose access to their profiles. However, with the setting going away soon, people will have to employ other tools and learn better social media habits to maintain their Facebook account security.
'Trusted Contacts' can still be accessed through Facebook's 'Password and security' menu. Although technically, users can still choose three to five friends to contact if they get locked out of their accounts, the friends will no longer be able to help give login access in a few weeks. Another security feature Facebook recommends to its users is Facebook Protect—offered to accounts with a broader audience and those who are Facebook Page admins. In addition, there's two-factor authentication, which involves a verification code provided via various methods, like a text message or an authentication app. Finally, people can use other valuable habits to ensure their Facebook accounts are as secure as possible.

Instead of Facebook's 'Trusted Contacts,' users are first encouraged to make sure the email address and phone number associated with their account are up to date.
