Iman Vellani, star of the highly anticipated Ms. Marvel series, has recently revealed that Chris Pratt offered his support and advice when it came to the preparation process for her role. Set to soon join Disney Plus' ever-growing list of MCU shows, Ms. Marvel will follow the story of Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teenager who feels rejected from both cultures that exist within her identity, feeling like an eternal outsider.
Due to her feeling a lack of belonging amongst her peers and family, Kamala utilizes the world of superheroes as her main form of escapism. A huge fan of MCU comics, fan-ficiton, andCaptain Marvel in particular, Kamala soon starts to develop powers of her own. The Ms. Marvel show was created by Bisha K. Ali and will consist of six episodes total, which are set to be released on June 8th. The initial Ms. Marvel trailer did hint at what’s in store for Marvel fans, as well as illuminate some major differences between the upcoming series and the original comic book source material. Ms. Marvel seems to have reportedly been made to intentionally appeal more so to a younger demographic. This makes total sense, given that Kamala as a character is a part of the MCU's phase four, which has been steadily introducing the new generation of emerging heroes.

Kamala is only sixteen years old in the show, with the series making significant changes and alterations to the powers that she was known for possessing in the Ms. Marvel comics. Ms. Marvel is not the last that fans will be seeing from Vellani. The breakout star is also set to appear in the upcoming sequel to Captain Marvel, The Marvels,which isn’t expected to be released until 2023.
