Obi-Wan Kenobi star Ewan McGregor recently revealed that he has received sexual gifts from his Star Wars fans. McGregor reprises his role as the titular Jedi Master in the latest entry in the massive science-fiction franchise. The Disney+ series marks the fourth time the actor donned the Jedi robes as he previously portrayed Kenobi throughout the entirety of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The series also marks the return of Hayden Christensen to the franchise following Anakin Skywalker's turn to the Dark Side as Darth Vader in Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith.
Since 1977, with Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope's initial release, the long-running franchise has cultivated a loyal following of fervent fans. Throughout the years, the fanbase has been both supportive as well as, at times, rather toxic toward new Star Wars material. The inclusion of Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), Finn (John Boyega), and Reva the Third Sister (Moses Ingram) prompted an unfounded racist backlash that Star Wars has only just begun openly speaking up against. There was also backlash surrounding the prequel trilogy that prompted numerous actors involved to retreat from acting. McGregor, for the most part, has been well-received by fans and those lack of boundaries between fans and the actors in the franchise has led to an interesting anecdote from the Obi-Wan actor.
