Though Darkseid is known as one of the Justice League’s greatest foes, there’s one villain fans will know from the DCEU that even the God of Evil hesitates to fight. In fact, it's not just that this villain scares Darkseid, but that they were the cause of his first ever experience of the emotion.
Darkseid stands among Superman’s greatest and deadliest villains to date. One of the New Gods of New Genesis and Apokolips, Prince Uxas stood second in line to the throne of Apokolips behind his brother, Drax. When Drax tried to take a power known as the Omega Force, Uxas killed his brother, claiming the power and the throne as his own and donning the moniker Darkseid. Darkseid is a being of immense evil and power known for his deadly Omega Beams, stone-like skin and incredible strength and resilience.

Thousands of years before his first encounter with Superman, Darkseid ran into the Kryptonian monster Doomsday while visiting the planet Bylan 5 during Dan Jurgens and Brett Breeding's “Showdown” from Doomsday Annual #1. Seeing the beast tear apart his seemingly unbeatable New God ally, Darkseid «experiences the very first twinge of fear in his life.» Darkseid initially resolves to work through his fear and engage Doomsday in hand-to-hand combat without the use of his deadly Omega Beams. Before the fight even begins, however, Doomsday causes a chain reaction within the planet’s atmosphere that makes it toxic to all inhabitants, causing Darkseid and his New Gods to abandon the fight through a Boom Tube.
