Sydney Sweeney, who was one of the breakout stars on the HBO show Euphoria, just recently got her next big break playing a character in Sony's upcoming live-action Madame Web film.
As of now, there have been no other castings for the Madame Web film, but S.J. Clarkson has been confirmed to direct the Spider-Man spinoff while Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless have written the screenplay, with Kerem Sanga having written a previous draft of the film. Because Madame Web is old, had no fighting abilities, and relied on her psychic powers in the comics, no one knows exactly how they're going to approach the film, but that won't matter as long as it's connected to the other Spider-Man spinoffs.

Deadline reported that Sweeney has been announced as the most recent casting in Madame Web, which already has Dakota Johnson playing the titular character. According to the outlet's sources, Madame Web's age and condition in the comics could lead to the project becoming «something else,» but as of now the character is being regarded as Sony's Doctor Strange due to her aforementioned abilities.
