With the Japanese government recently granting the Death Stranding director an award, his recognition in the arts has been given kudos as the creator continues to put out interesting work. On top of that, speculations have been flying that his studio Kojima Productions was in the lineup to be acquired by PlayStation Studios, but the man himself took to Twitter to say that there will be no acquisition.
According to a recent tweet, Kojima Productions will not be merging with PlayStation, and Kojima clarified that his company will continue to be an «independent studio.» The rumor began after a banner on the PlayStation website, specifically for PS Studios, swapped out an image of Concrete Genie and replaced it with Death Stranding, leading many to believe that the tech giant was about to acquire Kojima's outfit. However, it looks as though this is not the case, and Kojima says that it's simply a misunderstanding.
