In terms of video game stardom, names don't really come much bigger than Hideo Kojima. Given that his studio's 2019 release Death Stranding is one of the most unique sci-fi games around, his reputation as an innovative developer continues unabated, with his career stretching back more than three and half decades. As a result, the industry and surrounding community are often interested in what he's up to, and there is a possibility that the auteur may be working on a project for the PlayStation 5.
Kojima recently posted an image to his Japanese Twitter profile which shows a number of monitors and his director's chair. However, as mentioned by VGC, and enhanced by Kotaku, a PS5 development kit can just about be spotted in the far distance of the photograph. It's kind of blurry, but it's pretty unmistakable, given the unique shape of the piece of hardware. This has led to speculations that the director may be working on a PS5 game, most likely with his outfit Kojima Productions, however, nothing else has been said on the matter by the man himself.

Given the fact that Kojima hasn't confirmed anything, it seems more like a tease at this stage, either intentional or otherwise. However, the sight of the PlayStation dev kit will no doubt have fans guessing, especially given that there were rumors recently that Sony may be acquiring Kojima Productions. However, Kojima quickly denied the rumors, saying that the studio would remain entirely independent. Still, the sight of a PS5 development kit in an image uploaded by the director is certainly intriguing.
