Following the announcement of her casting in Sony’s Madame Web movie, many fans have speculated that Sydney Sweeney could be portraying the classic Spider-Man anti-hero Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat. With the surprise success of 2018’s Venom, Sony has been in search of ways to expand upon its Spider-Man/Venom universe. It is yet unknown whether Johnson will be Cassandra Webb’s incarnation of the hero or that of her popular successor, Julia Carpenter, though the former certainly seems more likely.
