Artist Sebastián Píriz just posted an incredible new piece of fan art featuring Abigail Brand, the character Emilia Clarke is rumored to be playing in the MCU . For those unfamiliar with Agent Brand's comic book appearances, she is the commanding officer of S.W.O.R.D. (a cosmic division of S.H.I.E.L.D.), rumored to appear in the MCU's Secret Invasion. The series will undoubtedly reference the comic book event with the same name.
S.W.O.R.D. made its MCU debut in WandaVision, claiming Maria Rambeau founded the organization with the United States government, separately from S.H.I.E.L.D. This is not the case in the comics, where S.W.O.R.D. stands for Sentient World Observation and Response Department. It was first introduced in Joss Whedon and John Cassady's Astonishing X-Men as the space-focused counterpart to S.H.I.E.L.D. It has recently been re-organized as the space division of the mutants of Krakoa. In the MCU, S.W.O.R.D.'s independent status helps distinguish the organization from S.H.I.E.L.D., which was crippled after being infiltrated by HYDRA in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Removing Abigail Brand and S.W.O.R.D. from the HYDRA conspiracy would allow writers to help Emilia Clarke's role stand alone.

She is essentially the «cosmic Nick Fury.» She regularly faces Kree and Skrull threats,
