Actress Elizabeth Olsen has said she hopes to return to play Scarlet Witch once again in a future Marvel project, but as of yet, that's all it is--a hope. Appearing on The Today Show, Olsen said she's hesitant to even talk about this because she said her words have a way of getting twisted.
To set the record straight, Olsen said, «Yes, I hope so. But I have no idea. When I say that, it's not because I have a loaded answer. It's because I say yes, I hope so, and I mean it at face value.»
Asked directly if Olsen has started filming any new Scarlet Witch content, Olsen replied, «Absolutely not.» Has she seen a script? «No,» Olsen said.
The actress went on to say, unprompted, that «there's no contract» as of yet for her to return to play Scarlet Witch again. And that could be the most important part of the puzzle.
Olsen's Scarlet Witch was the villain of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Following that role, Olsen told ScreenRant that she's hopeful her character can go to new places if she ever appears in the MCU again.
«We can do anything with her now! I feel like we've done so much. Now, we can really have fun; I feel like there's a lot more humor to be had with her. She's often the emotion of a story, and I'm curious to see what we can explore. And hopefully [we can] give her some redemption,» Olsen said.
