Elden Ring’s latest update is replete with balance adjustments to the game’s weapons, spells, and Spirit Ashes, but it’s a simple UI change that may have the biggest, most welcome impact on how players experience the game. If you’ve ever struggled to summon your steed Torrent or an NPC summon in a high-pressure situation in Elden Ring, read on.
Prior to Tuesday’s update, version 1.13 of Elden Ring, the game’s pop-up menu that asked whether you wanted to summon Torrent or, say, the drake warrior Igon defaulted to “Cancel.” Now, more than two years into Elden Ring’s life, FromSoftware has made that default choice be “OK.” This small change will be huge for Elden Ring players, once they break the muscle memory of FromSoft’s previous implementation, and should make certain boss fights just a teensy bit easier.
Here are the relevant patch notes for that UI update:
In addition to this massive menu buff, Elden Ring’s latest patch also powers up some previously unimpressive spells. The incantations Minor Erdtree and Rain of Fire, added in Shadow of the Erdtree, seem to have benefited the most from FromSoftware’s latest round of changes; the former actually heals allies commensurate with its high Faith requirements and the latter does an incredible amount of damage to fire-vulnerable enemies.

Also buffed nearly across the board are summoned spirits. With the exception of the already powerful Mimic Tear, every Spirit Ash is getting an attack power and damage negation buff when boosted by Revered Spirit Ash Blessings. Many Spirit Ashes also get increased HP and attack power.
