The Netflix release date has been moved up for the highly-anticipated sci-fi movie.
Netflix announced that it will officially be released a day earlier on December 21 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on Netflix.
In addition, a brand new teaser trailer has also been revealed, teasing some of the action-packed sequences that fans should expect to see from the first installment. This comes ahead of the sci-fi epic’s limited theatrical release next week, which will run from December 15-21 in four major cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, and London.

Rebel Moon stars Sofia Boutella as Kora, Ed Skrein as Admiral Atticus Noble, Charlie Hunnam as Kai, Michiel Huisman as Gunnar, Djimon Hounsou as General, Staz Nair as Tarak, Doona Bae as Nemesis, Ray Fisher as Darrian Bloodaxe, and newcomer E. Duffy as Milius, with Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins as the voice of an ancient robot knight named Jimmy.
“A peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius,” reads the film’s synopsis. “The desperate civilians dispatch Kora, a young woman who has a mysterious past, to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them challenge the regent.”
Described as a fantasy epic, the film is directed by Snyder from a screenplay he is co-writing with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad, based on a story by Snyder and Johnstad.
