The video game remake phenomenon has turned out to be a win-win for everybody. Devs get to work on a classic game without having to worry about the story, and are also assured of a major payday, depending on the game. Meanwhile, fans of the respective game get to experience it all over again with current-gen upgrades, and those who missed out on the original launch get to play it without worrying about it feeling dated. The latest success story with regard to this is Dead Space.
While it seems like a no-brainer, EA and Motive have not yet officially confirmed that they will be working on remakes for Dead Space 2 and 3. However, it seems that they are still testing the waters. EA has apparently sent out surveys asking if fans are interested in remakes of the other two games in the series. According to a Tweet by Dillon Rogers, EA has sent out a survey which asks fans if they'd like a remake of Dead Space 2 and 3.

"How interested would you be in a similar remake of Dead Space 2 (2011)", asks the survey, with similar wording for Dead Space 3. The options range from "Not at all interested" to "Extremely interested".
Based on the comments on the Tweet, it looks like everyone's down for a similar remake of the second game. However, there are a few hesitations when it comes to Dead Space 3. It seems fans want more than just a "similar remake", but rather a major overhaul, including story elements. The third game is widely regarded as the weakest in the trilogy, primarily because players felt the narrative took a major drop in quality.
