There's been a lot of speculation regarding what to expect from the Iron Man video game, especially since it was placed under the management of Motive Studio, a fairly new studio that was only established in 2017, though has since proven itself with games like the Dead Space remake. However, some details have been confirmed. The initial announcement revealed the project was conceptualized as a fully single-player experience that incorporated action-adventure elements into its gameplay. Similar to other recent comic book video game adaptations, the Iron Man video game will also follow a completely original narrative, which aims to immerse players in the life and struggles of Tony Stark.
While EA has yet to showcase actual gameplay footage, a job listing for Motive Studio's Iron Man team hinted the upcoming adaptation will additionally feature an open world. The advertisement specifically listed an opening for a Senior Technical Artist, who will help design the overall art direction of the game and oversee the production pipeline for several graphical elements of an open-world setting.
It remains unclear how the open-world design will add to Iron Man's single-player, action-adventure mechanics.
