Today, Prime Video announced it has ordered a new series based on the iconic Tomb Raider video game franchise as part of a deal between Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios. The series will be written and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
This exciting news builds upon the previously announced collaboration between Crystal Dynamics and Amazon Games to develop and publish a new multiplatform Tomb Raider video game. The as-yet untitled game will be a single-player, narrative-driven adventure that expands Lara Croft’s story within the Tomb Raider universe.
“With great IP, the possibilities are endless,” said Christoph Hartmann, VP of Amazon Games. “The richness and depth of the Tomb Raider fiction allows the Prime Video series and the Amazon Games video game to tell separate stories about Lara Croft’s adventures. We’re honored that Crystal Dynamics has entrusted Amazon with this iconic franchise, and we’re excited to see where this collaboration takes us.”
Stay tuned for further details on both projects as they progress.

Married and father of 3 children he has been gaming since the ripe age of 6 when he got his first NES system and over 30 years later he is still gaming almost daily. Kevin is also co-founder of the Play Some Video Games (PSVG) Podcast network which was founded over five years ago and is still going strong. Some of his favorite gaming series includes Fallout and Far Cry, he is a sucker for single player adventure games (hence his big reviews for Playstation), and can frequently be found getting down in one battle royale or another. If it's an oddball game, odds are he's all about it.
