Dungeons and Dragons has experienced a massive swell in popularity recently, in no small part due to actual play streams like Critical Role. Soon, fans of Dungeons and Dragons will be able to bring Critical Role to their tabletops in a different yet familiar way: the classic board game Clue.
Critical Role began as a simple livestream of famous voice actors who played Dungeons and Dragons on a weekly basis. Now, Critical Role has evolved into a full-fledged company complete with a charity foundation and a publisher called Darrington Press.

Darrington Press is teaming up with The Op Games and Hasbro to put out Clue: Critical Role. This new spin on the classic mystery game puts players in the shoes of the Mighty Nein–the heroes from Campaign 2 of Critical Role–as they are embroiled in a mysterious threat during the Harvest Close Festival in the city of Zadash. The game itself features gorgeous new art of the Mighty Nein drawn by illustrators and Critters Joric_Art and Shaun Ellis, and includes seven adorable hero tokens associated with each main character.
The OP Games, also known as USAopoly, is a board game publisher best known for its pop culture reskins of classic board games like Clue. Though its claim to fame is with releases of Monopoly, it has done special versions of dozens of board games, ranging from Codenames to Jenga. It has even worked with both D&D and Critical Role before–The OP Games released a Dungeons and Dragons–themed Monopoly, Clue, and Yahtzee in the past, and sells several Critical Role puzzles, a Rubik’s Cube, and a Munchkin expansion.
