Dungeons and Dragons fans got the first look at the newest batch of movie characters at San Diego Comic-Con, but now fans and newcomers alike everywhere can catch a glimpse at the trailer for the latest adaptation of the popular RPG, Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
The new movie stars Chris Pine, Hugh Grant, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Regé-Jean Page, and comes from directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. The duo previously worked on movies including Game Night and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Daley was also a cast member of Judd Apatow's short-lived but beloved show Freaks and Geeks, on which his character played Dungeons and Dragons regularly.

The new trailer highlights much of what makes the game itself so endearing: that is a blend of magical creatures, monsters, adventure, and a ragtag group of heroes who are tasked with saving the world. Chris Pine's character, who appears to be a bard, narrates the trailer, hinting that he and his band of thieves «helped the wrong person steal the wrong thing,» which seems to have unleashed a great evil upon the world.
The trailer is chock full of easter eggs and hints at lore that will likely get fans excited. This includes plenty of classic creatures like the owlbear, the gelatinous cube, and even a mimic that almost takes a bite out of Rodriguez's character. There are also plenty of the titular dragons included as well.
