Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Has Made Some Big Changes To Super Saiyan God Goku
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has made some big visual changes to Goku's Super Saiyan God form, although fans seem a little mixed on whether it's for the better.
As exciting as Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is for DBZ fans, it's been made pretty clear ever since its re-reveal at The Game Awards that it's not as close to being released as some fans would hope. There have been numerous changes made to the game since that footage was shown off, such as Vegeta's facial shape being tweaked and the infamous Super Saiyan "banana" hair being toned down to be less yellow.
In the long run, these are all positive changes that make Sparking Zero look even better than it did when it was revealed, but it seems that there's even more about the game that's being tweaked behind the scenes. As shown off by Redditor Obelisk7777 on the Budokai Tenkaichi subreddit, another Super Saiyan form has been subtly changed since it was last shown off.
That form is Goku's Super Saiyan God transformation, which is my personal favourite. As highlighted in that Reddit post and showcased on the game's official website, Goku's model has been changed quite a bit since we last saw it, with the colour palette being tweaked to make his eyes and hair shine a brighter shade of red while his gi has been made much darker.
It's not clear why these changes have been made when the Super Saiyan God form was positively received when it was first unveiled (unlike the bright yellow Super Saiyan hair), but it's garnered some mixed reactions from fans. Some think that the new model is an improvement and looks more faithful to how Goku looked in the Dragon Ball Super anime, while others think that it's a downgrade with much less detail.
Some fans have compared Goku's model here to the one in Battle of Z, which is actually pretty accurate considering how much brighter it is now.
