Some recent updates made by Bandai Namco have suggested a possible release date for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will be announced soon. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero was officially announced during The Game Awards 2023 event, and Bandai Namco has been giving fans a steady stream of information about the game throughout 2024. These include a small portion of Sparking Zero's enormous playable roster, the gameplay mechanics, and some of the transformations for characters like Goku and Vegeta. While an official release date hasn't been given yet, some evidence has suggested it may be soon, such as the game's rating.

Games being given an ESRB rating is usually a good indicator of their development status. Game developers usually submit a game to be reviewed by the association when the game is content complete, with the final polishing and bug-fixing phase taking place in the last few months of its development cycle. As such, games usually receive ratings like these when they are close to release, as well as provide fans with some insight into their content. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero seems like it could be on track for a 2024 release.

As spotted by user sonic_postman9 on the r/Tenkaichi4 subreddit, Bandai Namco recently updated its website with the ESRB rating for Sparking Zero, the game being rated T for Teen. This rating is in line with past Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi games and most Dragon Ball games. Around the same time that this rating was discovered, the unofficial Sparking Zero News Twitter account discovered that the official Bandai Namco Europe YouTube channel had updated its playlist of trailers, with one video being unlisted. Based on these two updates, it's possible Bandai Namco may be announcing Sparking Zero's release date in the near future.

Rumors about Sparking Zero's release date suggested that the game would be released sometime in early 2024, possibly even Spring. While the source of these rumors is dubious at best, it appears that this rumored
