Dragon Ball FighterZ Is Getting A Physical Release On PS5 And Xbox Series X|S
thegamer.comEven though it has been more than three years since PlayStation and Xbox moved into the next generation of console gaming, the current-gen updates keep coming. Dragon Ball FighterZ, which celebrated its sixth birthday in January, was confirmed to be getting a current-gen update this week. A free current-gen upgrade at that - a rarity at this stage as other studios have been charging $10 - and the cherry on the cake was the additional announcement that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of FighterZ will be getting a physical release too.
Dragon Ball FighterZ current-gen upgrade landed on all available platforms this week and brought its long-awaited rollback netcode update along with it. Vastly improving the game's online services, an area in which it was severely lacking before now, the only downside is the update only appears to have been applied to the current-gen version of the game. The good news is that if you have a current-gen platform, you can now upgrade the game for free.
If you don't already own FighterZ, or you're a big enough Dragon Ball fan that you'd like to own a physical version even though you've already bought a last-gen or digital copy, the physical release is coming soon. Bandai Namco revealed the current-gen version's physical edition will be here on April 19, 2024, so not too long to wait. Prices and info regarding various editions will be revealed at a later date.
Dragon Ball FighterZ brings the storied series to the fighting game space, developed by 2D fighter specialists Arc System Works. Battles are 3v3, and there are over 40 characters to choose from.
Getting a lot of DLC over the years, there's a strong chance FighterZ gets a complete edition of some description that packages the base game and all of its DLC together.
