Apple will announce its iOS 17 and other updates next month after the launch of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models. Ahead of its final release, the company is testing the updates in the form of beta builds with developers so they can curate the bugs and issues. Today, the company has released beta 5 of its upcoming iOS 17, iPadOS 17, watchOS 10, tvOS 17, and macOS Sonoma to developers.
If you are a registered developer, you can download and install the latest iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 beta 5 builds on your iPhone and iPad right now. The latest update will be available to you over the air. All you have to do is head over to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and install iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 beta 5 on your iPhone or iPad. Make sure your Apple ID is linked to your Developer Account to receive the update.
Other than iOS 17, Apple has also released beta 5 of watchOS 10 to developers. watchOS 10 can be downloaded on your compatible Apple Watch through the dedicated Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Simply, launch the app and head over to General > Software Update > Beta Updates and install watchOS 10 beta 5 on your Apple Watch. Make sure your Apple Watch follows all the requisites to update to a new build.
Apple has also released macOS Sonoma beta 5 alongside iOS 17 to developers. Developers can install the latest update through the Apple Developer Center. Make sure you install the proper configuration profile before installing the update. Once you do so, the update will be available to you over the air in the Software Update Mechanics in System Preferences.
Lastly, Apple has seeded tvOS 17 beta 5 to developers for testing purposes. The build can be installed on your compatible Apple TV device through the Settings app
