Theater stands for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hint at the film's true villain. Marketing for Marvel films has always concealed as much as it reveals, but Marvel has truly excelled when it comes to Doctor Strange 2. Even now, just over a month before the movie's release, it's actually unclear who the main villain will really be.
Many trailers have appeared to hint Stephen Strange himself is the villain — or, at least, a variant of him may be. Shots have shown him arrested for "desecration of reality" and brought before a mysterious multiversal Illuminati featuring Patrick Stewart's Professor X. Meanwhile, other shots have shown Doctor Strange and America Chavez in pitched battle against an interdimensional creature named Shuma-Gorath, with marketing confirming it's been renamed "Gargantos," presumably because Marvel don't own the license to the name "Shuma-Gorath."
