Doctor Strange 2: One Month Countdown Video Hypes Multiverse of Madness
A new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness video hypes the one-month countdown to the movie's release. The upcoming MCU film will be the first of 2022 and sees the return of director Sam Raimi to the superhero genre, after having made the landmark Spider-Man trilogy in the 2000s. The next chapter in Doctor Strange's story is scheduled to release theatrically on May 6.
After his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home saw the formal introduction of the MCU multiverse, Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange is forced to reckon with the danger these alternate realities pose to his own. The movie will also build on what was developed in the Disney+ TV series WandaVision, in which Elizabeth Olsen's Avenger came into her own as the Scarlet Witch and began reading the Darkhold, potentially advancing her magical abilities to be on par with Strange's. The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer has already teased dangerous variants, mystical beings, and even the return of Patrick Stewart's Professor X from the non-MCU X-Men franchise.

Now, as the release date approaches, marvel_uk shares a new Doctor Strange 2 countdown video to mark the 1-month milestone. The video includes clips of characters both new and old, reminding audiences that the film will introduce Xochitl Gomez's America Chavez, who has the ability to travel between dimensions. As the caption indicates, British audiences will be officially treated to the film a day early, on May 5, and commenters on the Instagram post speak to their growing excitement for Raimi's MCU debut.
