The official Instagram account of Disneyland was hacked Thursday! The hackers had the run of the Instagram account for an hour during which they posted abusive content. However, the page was restored soon after the hacking attempt. Disneyland's Instagram account has more than 8 million followers. A report by abc10 suggests that the hackers posted a series of photos including memes and selfies, which could be of the suspected hackers. The online criminals had posted four posts and an Instagram Live story. These posts were signed by a mysterious person named "David Do," and one of the posts was linked to a private Instagram account that had a profile picture of the same person who appeared in the hacker’s selfies.
These posts shared by hackers featured explicit language, while others seem to make joking references to COVID-19, the report suggested. The posts contained two other Instagram accounts, however, it is still unclear whether these accounts are connected to the hack or not.
Not just Instagram, the hackers also hijacked the Facebook account of Disneyland, but it is not clear what kind of content was posted there, if any.
The abc10 report shared one of the captions of the post by the hackers, which reads, "I am a super hacker that is here to bring revenge upon Disneyland. I am ----- tired of all these ------- Disney employees mocking me for having a small -----. WHO'S THE TOUGH GUY NOW JEROME?" In a similar manner, another post by the hackers use foul language to mock Covid. The caption reads, "Thinkin about that time i invented covid and blamed it on wuhan .... David Do. #Notjerome Sup Covid brotha."
