Ms. Marvel episode 6 officially confirmed Kamala Khan's status as a mutant, so it seems Marvel might be following a tried-and-tested tradition in introducing the X-Men, mirroring past stories involving Rogue and Jubilee. Since the finalization of Disney's acquisition of Fox in 2019, Marvel viewers have been waiting patiently for mutants and the X-Men team to show their faces in the MCU. Wishes were slightly granted with the cameo appearance of Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which was soon followed by the revelation of Kamala being Earth-616's first official mutant, creating a clear opportunity for the eventual debut of the X-Men.
Throughout Ms. Marvel, the show teased that there was something different about Kamala's genes.
