Diablo Immortal is beginning to roll out its latest content update, with Season 22: Plague Reaper and a new Battle Pass, returning events, balance changes, and feature updates included.
Downtime begins today in most regions, with the full update available globally around 2 AM PT tomorrow.
Helliquary matchmaking is finally here. This joins the existing Raid Finder as a new feature specifically to get set up right into Helliquary raids. Selecting this option matchmakes you right into the fray. The team has also added a Blacksmith to the end of Helliquary raids, and moved the exit portal to prevent accidental exit when attempting to pick up loot.
Season 22 lets you earn 40 ranks on the Battle Pass from now through February 15th. Sanctuary becomes infected by the afflicted as they present themselves. Plague Reaper lets you track down the source of this disease to stop the flow of this malicious affliction. Changes to the Battle Pass system mean that with an Empowered level pass, you have some new reward choices. You can choose between 2 Telluric Pearls, the Fervent Fang, or the Grim Rhythm Two-Star Legendary Gems. The Empowered level pass also lets you earn Familiar Contracts and new cosmetics.
The update brings several returning events, including Fractured Plane, Shady Stock, and Alley of Blood. Infernal Knowledge is also back, beginning on January 27th, Which sets up daily tasks to unlock a number of milestone rewards that include crests, Telluric pearls, and Legendary items.
A number of changes to balance the game apply to classes and Battleground matchmaking. In Battlegrounds, you won’t be able to allocate your Paragon Points during matches due to some exploiting this to swap a build that gave advantages after they were already in a match.
Also a number of quality of life changes, including the ability to see the last 100 instances of crest usage, gray health bar changes to communicate a boss has immunity to damage, and more.
