Downtime for the update will start tonight and when the update goes live for all tomorrow, Trial of the Hordes is back, with some challenging changes. The event pits you head-to-head with another player, earning rewards and ranking up. When you kill the monsters in your lane, you will cause monsters to spawn in your enemy's lane, and vice versa.
There are a few key changes this time, including to matchmaking and gameplay. When you are matched, you won't be able to identify your opponent this time. There are changes to ranking, task changes, and rewards.
Gameplay changes include updated win conditions and boosted damage, attack speed, and movement speed for monsters, scaling up the longer that monster is alive. Cranking up the chaos and speed this time is the goal. Win conditions also get updates. If both players are still alive at the end of the match, the winner is the one that killed the most non-Elite monsters. there are additional conditions if players are tied. Monster kills and damage taken will also be displayed so you can see who is in the lead at any given time.
Diablo Immortal is also getting some significant changes to Battlegrounds. You'll take 30% less damage, which stacks on top of existing damage reduction effects.Take longer to kill other players by design, which is intended to make these PVP scenarios more engaging and to respond to player feedback. A few of the changes were also for balance and to decrease exploits, like preventing players from changing their equipment to match with lower levels.
