Between Madden NFL 24, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, August was a solid month for new titles on PlayStation. But which game came out on top? August's most-downloaded game in the US and Canada on PS5 was Madden NFL 24, as EA's latest chapter in its long-running sports series clinched victory on that platform. In that same region, the most-downloaded PS4 game was Minecraft, while Madden NFL 24 made a last-gen appearance in second place.
Staying in the US and Canada, Firewall Ultra was the most-downloaded game on PSVR 2 and Fortnite continued to stay on top of the download charts. Moving abroad to Europe, the most-downloaded PS5 game wasn't Madden NFL 24 or even From Software's return to mechanized action, but Grand Theft Auto V. The new Madden game actually debuted in 12th place on that list, which isn't too surprising given American football's lack of popularity on that continent, especially with the Rugby World Cup around the corner.
