Wondering how to unlock mounts in Diablo 4? With a mighty steed between your knees, traversing the vast open world of Sanctuary is a breeze. Right up front (out of fervent respect for your time), know that unlocking mounts is not available until you complete the first three Acts of the game, despite the fact it teases you with a Quest to unlock them from the very start. On this page, as part of our Diablo 4 guide, we'll teach you how to unlock Mounts when the appointed time comes.
As mentioned above, the bad news is you can't unlock mounts until you beat Act I: A Cold and Iron Faith, Act II: The Knife Twists Again, Act III: The Making of Monsters, and all of their associated Quest chains, potentially dozens of hours into the game.
There is good news, thankfully. Once you do the above and complete the Urgent Quest Mount: Donan's Favor, mounts will be unlocked for all of your characters, provided they are on the same Realm.
Simply visit the Stables (one of which can be found in each major city, Kyovashad pictured above), pay a small fee, and the world is your oyster. A mount will allow you to travel much quicker and can be summoned by pushing Right on the D-Pad. You can spur your mount with R2 for an additional burst of speed and deliver a powerful dismounting attack with Square.
