At its core, Diablo 4 is a game about math. Specifically, the eternal grind to hurl bigger numbers of damage at the enemies around you before they can do the same to you. One Diablo 4 player has just set a ridiculous benchmark when it comes to dealing damage, as they've managed to use a broken build to deal over 35 undecillion points of harm to an enemy. That's 35 followed by 36 zeroes, in case you need a frame of reference.
As spotted by Icy Veins, the World First level 100 player, Rob, used a busted Rend Bleed Barbarian build to produce 35,248,198,783,801,730,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 in damage. This number was made possible by the infinite scaling interaction between the Aspect of Berserk Ripping, the Skullbreaker's Aspect, and the Aspect of Anemia alongside a Concussion passive for the stun status effect. This attack is one that requires plenty of time to properly build up, but when it hits, it hits hard.
Since the game launched in June, players have regularly been exploring every corner of Sanctuary and creating broken builds like this. With the game's first season, Season of the Malignant, launching on July 20, Blizzard has also encouraged players to put down their controllers and go touch some grass. Some of these builds will likely be nerfed when a new update for Diablo 4 goes live and the seasonal content is introduced, as Blizzard says that bug fixes, balancing updates, and more will be added in that patch.
If you're planning to be ready for that content when it arrives, here are seven things that you can do to prepare for Season of the Malignant.
