Devil May Cry Creator Would Love to Remake the First Entry in the Series, Viewtiful Joe and Bayonetta
Devil May Cry creator Hideki Kamiya would love to remake the first entry in the series alongside others of his games, the man himself confirmed in a new video.
Speaking during the fifth installment of his Kamiya Responds to Your Comments, the game designer responded to a comment asking about a remake of the first entry in the series, saying that, despite an HD remaster being out, he would love to remake the game, as well as Viewtiful Joe and the original Bayonetta with up-to-date graphics and more sophisticated game design.

The original Devil May Cry is a rather unique game, compared to the rest of the series, as it is a blend of Resident Evil with character action mechanics that hasn't aged particularly well mechanically, but it's still unrivaled when it comes to atmosphere. Despite how much Hideki Kamiya would love to remake the game, however, he hasn't worked on the franchise for a long time, so it's unlikely CAPCOM would take the franchise away from Hideaki Itsuno, who brought the series to new heights with Devil May Cry 5, to let him develop the remake but who knows, stranger things have happened in the past.

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is every bit as good as the original release, if not even more, thanks to the many additions like playable Vergil, Turbo Mode and Legendary Dark Knight difficulty. While ray tracing and DualSense support are not massive game-changers, they round up the package nicely and help making it a worthy purchase for every Devil May Cry fan and for those who did not have yet the pleasure to experience one of the best character action games released in recent years.
