This week's Developer Update Livestream was the longest one yet, and Blizzard has continued their trend of releasing updated Patch Notes immediately following the livestream. Patch 2.0.2 Notes outline a significant change to the way players will craft Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4 Season 6. There have been many changes to the Mythic Unique crafting system since its original implementation, but the information that Blizzard revealed today has massive implications for the playerbase.
Vessel of Hatred Patch 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 Notes Developer Update Summary Diablo 4 Season 6
First, the good news: the amount of Resplendent Sparks required to craft Mythic Uniques will be cut in half — it will cost just 2 to craft a Mythic in Diablo 4 Season 6. However, while using 2 Resplendent Sparks allows any player to craft a random Mythic Unique at the Blacksmith, crafting a specific Mythic Unique requires 2 Resplendent Sparks plus a specific set of Runes… Runes that are only available as drops to players who have purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion.
While the decrease in Resplendent Sparks required to craft Mythics is a definite win, just how accessible this updated crafting system will to be for Diablo 4 players who haven't purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion remains to be seen. As it currently reads in patch notes, those who have not purchased Vessel of Hatred will not be able to deterministically craft Mythic Uniques due to their lack of access to Runes.
