While the addition of weapon crafting to Destiny 2 has been a welcome one among the game's community over the last year, it has taken away some of the chase for adept raid weapons for some players which Bungie hopes to bring back in Lightfall. The appeal of endgame activities such as master difficulty raids has been the gear available, namely adept weapons capable of rolling with multiple perks and the ability to use adept weapons mods to improve overall performance. It appears Bungie will lean into this notion with some fresh changes, taken from weapon crafting, at the release of Lightfall and following seasons to get players back into master raids.
Weapon crafting was introduced into Destiny 2 with the release of the last major expansion, The Witch Queen, after years of demand from the game's community. Players would need to unlock weapon patterns for craftable weapons by completing Deepsight objectives, which would also provide the various materials needed to craft the weapon at the Relic located in Mars' Enclave social space. The last year has seen Bungie streamline the process significantly, reducing the number of currencies and increasing Deepsight weapon drop rates, while more are set to come in Lightfall to make crafting more accessible.

As for adept raid weapons, Bungie won't be making these craftable but will be pulling from the upgrade process for crafted weapons to inject them with some fresh life.
