Hideo Kojima’s releases for iOS next week. The 69.8-gigabyte download requires an iPhone 15 Pro or an iPad or Mac with an M1 series chip or newer.
As IGN reported, the iPhone 15 Pro natively supports Death Stranding thanks to the phone’s A17 Pro Chip. Apple unveiled the new phone last September, describing it as the “next generation of mobile gaming.” Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding is one of several AAA games that have been released or will be released on the device. Kojima’s game joins the Resident Evil 4 remake and Resident Evil: Village, with Assassins Creed: Mirage also on its way.
As with the RE4 port, fans who buy Death Stranding: Director’s Cut can use it on any compatible iOS device. Mac and iPhone users can pre-order it now for $19.99. It will be released on January 30th, at which point the price will go up to $39.99.
The Director’s Cut, released initially in 2021, introduced several quality-of-life improvements to Death Stranding. These include new graphics options and the ability to replay Boss Battles and Cliff Memories. Meanwhile, gameplay additions include new items, combat abilities, cosmetics, buildable structures, and a robot sidekick to help carry cargo. The Director’s Cut also added several new missions, the new Roadster vehicle, a racetrack, and a shooting range.
This also isn’t the only Hideo Kojima game on its way to the iPhone 15. When Kojima announced the iOS port last year, he revealed he was working with Apple to bring more games to its platforms. The legendary game director is currently developing Death Stranding 2 and an experimental horror game called OD. While this is unconfirmed, it stands to reason that those games will make it to the iPhone 15 eventually.
