Deadpool 3 Writers Assure Ryan Reynolds' Character Will Remain Rated R
Even if those who are running things have changed, it appears that the game has not changed with Deadpool 3. According to the writers of Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth will still be as R-rated as ever.
Many were worried that when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, and by extension the movie rights to Deadpool, that the franchise would lose its rated-R style with its inclusion into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.Deadpool 3 writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick said that while they were ecstatic that the merc with the mouth will potentially be involved in the MCU in the near future, Disney has apparently not held them back with what they can or cannot put on the screen for the next film

In a recent interview with Den of Geek, Reese said that fans can rest assured that Deadpool will still be the same character with no limitation whatsoever. “Don’t worry about that,” Reese said. “They’ve been very supportive with regard to that. Now when it comes to a particular joke, if we cross a line, maybe we’ll hear at some point, ‘Maybe not that joke.’ But I think they’ve been incredibly supportive of what we’re doing because obviously, we were doing it separate from them for a long time, and I think they’ve seen the success and they’ve had their own even greater success. So hopefully it’ll be a marriage made in heaven. But we’ve definitely got their support, and that’s a great thing to feel.”
