Deadpool 3 screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have revealed more details on how the merc with a mouth will be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The MCU films are much more family-friendly and toned down in comparison to 20th Century Fox's Deadpool movies, something that the writers say will allow for Deadpool's core characteristics to shine.
«I think it presents a wonderful opportunity for fish-out-of-water [comedy]. Deadpool is a lunatic at the center of a movie,» Reese said to Post Cred Pop. «Usually, the lunatics are the supporting character and the protagonist is reasonably sane, and our movie is flipped. So to drop a lunatic into a very sane world, it's just like straight butter. It's going to be really fun.»
