Today, Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios announced the release date of Dead Island 2 Haus. This first expansion for the game will debut on November 2 on all platforms, introducing an entirely new story where a billionaire's 'tecno-death cult' fights for survival during the zombie apocalypse.
Dead Island 2 Haus takes place in an all-new location, a mysterious and stylish Malibu mansion where the boundaries of morality are pushed to the limit. The villa is both a sanctuary and a machine that strips away the flesh and harvests the soul. Players will weave through the deranged labyrinth of biomes, where rational architecture is subverted by expanding narrative spaces.
Players will be able to unlock new slaying tools to survive this horror:
Owners of the expansion pass (priced at $29.99) won't have to pay anything more. It is unclear whether Dead Island 2 Haus will be purchasable as a standalone DLC. The expansion pass also includes the second story expansion, SOLA Festival, scheduled to launch in Q2 2024.
Dead Island 2 was quite successful despite the troubled development history. When it launched earlier this year, it became Deep Silver's biggest launch ever in terms of unit sales and revenue.
The game got a 7.5 out of 10 score in Wccftech's review:
Games that go through development hell hardly turn out great, but Dambuster Studio proved with Dead Island 2 that this is not always the case, although the game is far from a masterpiece. While the gameplay works and feels quite fun at the start of the game, things become repetitive very quickly due to the linearity of the experience and the shallowness of the combat system.
