Dead by Daylightfeatures three unique in-game currencies: Auric Cells, Iridescent Shards, and Bloodpoints. Auric Cells involve microtransactions that only go toward purchasing in-game cosmetics, such as skins and outfits, while Bloodpoints are earned for basically any action players perform in a match, whether they play as a killer or as a survivor.
Iridescent Shards are a little more difficult to procure, simply because players only earn this in-game currency through XP that is gained during each match, which also goes toward increasing Player Levels. Iridescent Shards are not capped, unlike Bloodpoints, but are earned at a much slower rate, making them an unreliable currency to use, thus incentivizing the purchase of Auric Cells when players wish to buy cosmetics. However, while there are ways to earn Iridescent Shards more reliably, an upcoming event should assist players with earning more instantaneously.
