DC Comics is honoring industry legend George Pérez with art from artists including Jim Lee, Alex Ross, and many more. As the prolific creator’s 68th birthday approaches in midst of his stage 3 cancer diagnosis, the publisher that Pérez has had a major impact on is celebrating his legacy.
Throughout comic book history, there is a collection of writers and artists who have dramatically influenced the medium, transcending any singular publisher. George Pérez has been among the list of beloved creators, for titles such as The New Teen Titans, The Infinity Gauntlet, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Avengers/JLA, Wonder Woman, and several others. Since his retirement from the comic book industry, younger writers and artists have voiced their collective appreciation for his work. However, after announcing his terminal cancer diagnosis, both his colleagues and those inspired by his contributions have come together to express their love for George Pérez through an outpouring of support.

With his 68th birthday approaching in June, DC Comics has announced that Pérez will be honored by a wide selection of artists, unveiling a two-page spread featuring many heroes and villains from the DC Universe, set to be included in all comics releasing that month. The piece which includes a layout by Dan Jurgens with colors by Hi-Fi, and contributions from Alex Ross, Jim Lee, Dave Gibbons, Phil Jimenez, Walter Simonson, Daniel Sampere, Todd McFarlane, Nicola Scott, Jerry Ordway, and more. On the right side of the spread, George Pérez is illustrated at a drawing table, joined by the New Teen Titans and Deathstroke.
