Although Unova has become one of the most popular Pokémonregions in recent years, Pokémon X and Y should get remakes beforePokémon Black and White. Originally launching in 2013 and bringing players to the Kalos region, Pokémon X and Y introduced Mega Evolution. Because the Generation 5 RPG was the first Pokémon game to transition to the 3DS however, the Kalos adventure had a few growing pains.
In Pokémon X and Y, players are tasked with exploring the Kalos region which was largely inspired by France and various regions of Europe. The game featured groundbreaking 3D locations such as the vast Lumiose City, and also introduced the brand new Fairy-type Pokémon to the series. With its move to 3D-based models, Pokémon X and Y even allowed players to customize their trainer for the first time in the Pokémon franchise, including their character's hair, skin color, and clothing.

Despite Pokémon X and Y's ambitious features, some players felt the Generation 5 RPG felt unfinished, especially when compared to Game Freak's second, better-looking 3DS title Pokémon Sun and Moonwhich was released three years later. Whether it was Kalos' lean post-game material or the sparse storyline, many argued that Pokémon X and Y could have been so much more. While most fans desperately want to revisit the Unova region with a Pokémon Black and White remake, Pokémon X and Y has many more reasons why it should be the next classic Pokémon title to get a modern makeover first instead.
