The Quarry is a game with many endings, but somehow, the supposed best end feels like it may be the worst. Out of 100+ possibilities, the finale culminates in a bit of a plot hole-ridden mess that leaves several questions unanswered. While the ending is by no means terrible, some of the enormous elephants in the room go unaddressed, leaving no room for them to be genuinely addressed even if DLC were to release to continue the story.

Players lucky enough to save everyone may earn The Quarry's best ending. In this ending, Conselours Ryan and Laura partner with police officer Travis Hackett, seeking to cure the Hackett family of a curse placed upon them by a woman named Eliza. The woman turned out to be the very same that had been guiding the player through the story and reading decision-altering tarot cards, with the ulterior motive of wiping out every member of the Hackett family. Her grudge stemmed from misunderstanding the youngest two of the Hackett family, Kaylee, and Caleb, trying to start a distraction fire to free her caged werewolf son, Silas. It's here players are given a chance to end the Hackett line and continue risking other werewolf bites for other travelers or to end the curse once in for all. The best ending of The Quarry demands character death and will garner approval or the promise of an eternal haunting from Eliza. Unfortunately, this final path split is where it all falls apart.
