If a new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet leak is to be believed, Pokémon X and Y's Gogoat could finally reach its full potential with a Gen 9 Legendary mechanic. After months of silence, Game Freak finally gave Pokémon fans around the world a deeper look at Gen 9 with a new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet gameplay trailer in June. While not featured in the footage, a prominent Pokémon leaker claims that the Kalos region's Gogoat will finally make its return in the new region after being absent from the franchise since 2013.
The second Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer revealed a handful of Gen 9's new features such as version-exclusive Pokémon Professors, as well as an online co-op mode that allows up to four players to explore the map together. The new footage also gave fans their first glimpse at the Gen 9 Pokédex, by introducing new Pokémon Pawmi, Smoliv, and Lechonk. The most important thing arguably revealed in the June update though was Scarlet and Violet's Legendary Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon.
