Created by X-Men legends Chris Claremont and Jim Lee, Remy LeBeau was first introduced in 1990's Uncanny X-Men Annual #14 and has been a staple of the X-Men comics since, acting as friend, foe, and anti-hero. Gambit, a proud Louisiana native who speaks in a thick Cajun accent, was first introduced as more of a «ladies' man» in the '90s, but a softer and more sensitive side to his rough outer exterior was quickly unveiled, especially around his long time love interest Rogue.
