Darkest Dungeon II is getting its first DLC in December, following 1.0 release out of Early Access back in May. The new DLC, “The Binding Blade”, adds two new playable heroes, a new mini-boss, and more to discover.
The two new classes are the Duelist and the Crusader. The Duelist is a fencer who is able to change between defensive and aggressive stances to offer versatility. The Duelist can also get around enemy defenses, striking with the Riposte move. The Crusader is a returning class option. With Holy Fire, bet on the Crusader to smite some enemies as a frontline damage dealer. You can also rely on the Crusader to withstand a few blows with high defense, then help the team with support abilities to heal and help them with stress relief. And there’s always his blade.
These two classes are just the beginning for this upcoming dlc. There's also a brand new roaming miniboss–The Warlord. This mini boss is roaming around and you will potentially encounter this enemy as you journey on your path towards the Mountain. You might or you might not encounter the miniboss, but it adds a layer of strategy required since you'll always have to be prepared in case the Warlord shows up.
Of course, this being Darkest Dungeon II, you’ll have a lot on your plate just from the start with your team, so even the threat of a roaming boss really does add layers to keeping your team as capable–and alive–as possible to meet your goal.
The DLC is “coming soon”, but you can wishlist it on Steam. Head to Darkest Dungeon II for more.
