The Cazador fight in Baldur's Gate 3 is anxiety-inducing. Not only are you up against a tough boss and his lackeys, but you're also probably doing it a man down, as Cazador captures Astarion before the fight starts. If you don't free Astarion in time, he'll be permanently killed, used to make Cazador even stronger. Oh, and even after you free him, Cazador will just keep trapping him to try and complete the ritual.
So, it's little surprise that rather than go through this fight as intended, fans have been finding different ways to get rid of these factors. The most obvious one is to just not take Astarion with you. This guarantees his safety, stops Cazador from completing the ritual, and gives you a full party of companions for the fight. The downside is that Astarion is understandably miffed that he won't get any closure.
But, lo and behold, there's a way that you can (almost) get the best of both worlds. Take Astarion with you as usual, wait for Cazador to restrain him, and then... push him off the edge. Like, seriously, kill him. Don't worry, if you kill him, you can still revive him later on, just as long as Cazador doesn't use him in the ritual.
This method was inadvertently discovered by Reddit user theMobilUser, and it's genius. Astarion still gets to be there for his closure, but he's both out of harm's way and blocked from helping Cazador complete the Ascension. Sure, you still don't have a fourth-party member, but you're up against a weaker Cazador.
The easiest way to pull this off is to send someone over to help Astarion, only to then use the shove ability to push him off the edge. This will cause him to die instantly, bringing him back as a blue orb which isn't of much use to Cazador.
You can, of course, do
