The Dark Souls franchise is a universally dark and gloomy place to be, but some players just love it. That’s despite being a literal undead constantly being resurrected to fight monsters, demons, dragons, and gods, and whatever else you happen to stumble across.
Some players like the Dark Souls games so much they don’t play anything else. I’m not saying that’s the sort of player Reddit user EightBlockss happens to be, but whoever they are, they sure do love Dark Souls 2.

EightBlockss recently found out that Dark souls 2 has a limit to how far the in-game timer will go. Where most games will probably end after reaching three digits in the hours counter, EightBlockss ended because the number simply couldn’t go any higher after 999:59:59.
"Fun Fact: DS2 in-game timer stops at 999:59:59," reported EightBlockss, while posting a picture of their playthrough as proof. They’re level 722, which is also ridiculous. Unfortunately, the playthrough screen doesn’t indicate what New Game Plus level they’re on, but it’s gotta be up there too. Or perhaps EightBlockss is still lost wandering around Majula, as the top commenter suggests.
It’s been just over eight years since the release of Dark Souls 2, so 1,000 hours really isn’t that bad when you think about it. The recent Elden Ring survey revealed that loads of players have experience with the Dark Souls series, although the survey didn’t ask quite how many hours they put into Souls Series.
The survey did, however, ask how many hours people have clocked in Elden Ring, and despite being only a few months old, more than 112 respondents already had over 300 hours. At that rate, they’ll hit a thousand
