With Devil’s Reign now over, Daredevil has a new mission: redeem one of his most embarrassing failures. In 2010’s Shadowlands event, Daredevil assumed control of the Hand, and tried to rehabilitate them. His efforts were in vain, and almost led him down a path of destruction; now, with the threat of the Kingpin gone (for now anyway), Daredevil is going to take care of the Hand once and for all. The Hand, a cult of evil ninjas, has been menacing Daredevil for many years now; Elektra, Daredevil’s on-again-off-again lover, once worked for the Hand but broke free of them thanks to Daredevil. At one point, Daredevil took control of the Hand and attempted to steer them in a more benevolent direction, as chronicled in Shadowland. However, his efforts to turn the Hand into a force for good backfired, and he became susceptible to demonic possession; a group of Marvel’s street-level heroes then had to come together to free Daredevil. The group was successful, and the Hand continued on with their evil ways. Recently, Elektra assumed the mantle of Daredevil, just in time for Kingpin to become Mayor of New York City, enacting strict anti-superhero laws, as seen in the recently concluded Devil’s Reign, written by Chip Zdarsky, illustrated by Marco Checchetto, colored by Marcio Menyz and lettered by Clayton Cowles.
